How to Download Facebook Videos and Reels (Phone and PC)
Updated · 4 min read
Quick answer
Tap Share under the video and choose Copy link, open savelark.com/facebook-video-downloader, paste the link and tap Download. Pick HD for the best quality or SD for a smaller file. The MP4 saves to Downloads (on iPhone, Files › Downloads).
Open the Facebook Video Downloader →Which Facebook videos can be saved
Any video or reel that anyone can watch without logging in: videos from public pages, public profiles and public groups. Videos shared with friends only, or posted in a private group, aren't reachable by any download tool.
Quick check: open the link in a private browser window. If Facebook plays it without asking you to log in, it can be downloaded.
Getting the right link
Links that contain the video's number work as they are: facebook.com/reel/…, facebook.com/watch/?v=… and facebook.com/PageName/videos/….
Short links, fb.watch/… and facebook.com/share/…, are redirects that Facebook often won't open for our server. If you have one, open it in your browser first, then copy the full facebook.com address that appears and paste that instead.
On a computer, clicking the video's timestamp or opening it full screen puts its own address in the browser bar. Copy that rather than the address of the whole page or feed.
Step by step
The same steps work on iPhone, Android and a computer.
- 1Under the video, tap Share, then Copy link. If the link starts with fb.watch or facebook.com/share, open it in your browser and copy the full address instead.
- 2Open your browser and go to savelark.com/facebook-video-downloader.
- 3Paste the link into the box and tap Download.
- 4Tap HD for the best picture, or SD for a quicker, smaller file.
- 5On iPhone, open Files › Downloads, tap the video, then Share › Save Video to add it to Photos.
HD or SD?
HD is the highest quality Facebook keeps for that video, often 720p or 1080p. SD is usually 360p or 480p, around a quarter of the size, which is handy on mobile data or for sending in a chat.
A four-minute HD video can be around 100 MB. On a slow connection, leave the tab open until the download finishes.
FAQ
Can I download Facebook videos without an app?
Yes. Everything happens in the browser, on phones and computers alike.
Does it work with Facebook reels?
Yes. Reels download the same way as regular videos, with their sound.
Can I download a Facebook live video?
Once the live has ended and Facebook has saved it as a video, yes. While it's still live, no.
Why is there no HD button on some videos?
Facebook only has an SD version of some older or smaller uploads, so that's the only one we can offer.
